The Patchogue Theatre
for the Performing Arts (PTPA) and the Patchogue Arts Council (PAC) present
The 3rd Patchogue Arts Festival at the Patchogue Theatre and throughout
Patchogue Village on Sunday October 24th. This day of art, poetry,
performance and music brings Long Island based visual artists, poets,
performers and singer-songwriters together in this south shore village that
has become a hotbed for the arts in Suffolk County. Starting at Noon, there
will be an artist reception for the artists whose work is part of the second
PAC Walking Arts Tour (WAT). Approximately 40 Long Island based artists have
been invited to display their talents in a number of locations such as
storefronts, restaurants, and open spaces in a show that runs through
November 3rd. In addition to locations throughout Patchogue, this year’s WAT
also includes locations in Blue Point, Bayport, and Sayville. Maps of the
Walking Arts Tour will be available at the reception and visitors will be
encouraged to head out onto the sidewalks of Main Street and South Ocean
Avenue to view the various works from 2:30 until 4:30. At 5:00 a free
performance by ImprovTheater- Playback Long Island will be featured in the
PTPA lobby. Playback is a theater form that uses music, dance and
improvisational theater to bring the stories and experiences of the audience
to life. At 5:30 a free concert in the lobby will feature alternating sets
