The Patchogue Theatre for
the Performing Arts (PTPA) and the Patchogue Arts Council (PAC) present The
Patchogue Autumn Arts Festival at the Patchogue Theatre and throughout
Patchogue Village on Sunday November 8.
This FREE day
of art, poetry and music brings Long Island based visual artists, poets and
singer-songwriters together in this south shore village that is rapidly
becoming a hotbed for the arts in Suffolk County.
1:00 - Artist Reception for Laurence Lee
in the PTPA lobby.
Mr. Lee will celebrate
the opening of his show "The Tonal and the Nagual" at the “Lobby Art
Gallery” that PAC curates year round at PTPA, featuring Long Island based
visual artists. Creating works in both wood and metal, Mr. Lee developed his
skills working in a fine arts foundry and through the tutelage of a number
of masters in his chosen crafts. His imagery emerges through unconscious
channels and an interest in non western mystic traditions from a
relationship with Eastern Mysticism and the unconscious.
2:00 - Welcome artists from the PAC Walking Arts
Tour.
Over 40 artists have been
invited to display their talents in a number of Patchogue Village locations
such as storefronts, restaurants, and open spaces in a show that runs
through early January. Maps of the Walking Arts Tour will be available at
the reception and visitors will be encouraged to head out onto the sidewalks
of Main Street and South Ocean Avenue to view the various works from 3:00
until 5:00.
