Internationally renowned Iranian-American comedian MAZ JOBRANI has performed his hilarious stand up comedy at venues around the globe. His comedy is a soothing breath of fresh air in what seems to be evermore tense political times for Middle Eastern people around the world. Maz was most recently seen performing alongside Judd Hirsch and Katy Segal in Superior Donuts on CBS. His first original NETFLIX standup special “Immigrant” was filmed at the Kennedy Center and is currently available for streaming. He has also put out 3 other solo specials on Showtime including: “Brown and Friendly,” “I Come in Peace,” and “I’m Not a Terrorist, But I’ve Played One on TV.” In the Spring of 2016 he performed at the White House where he had the privilege of introducing Michelle Obama. He was a founding member of The Axis of Evil Comedy Tour, which aired on Comedy Central. Maz has co-starred in many films including Disney’s Descendants, Sydney Pollack’s The Interpreter and Ice Cube’s Friday After Next. With over 50 guest star appearances, Maz has been regularly seen on television’s most popular shows including: Grey's Anatomy, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Shameless. He is a regular panelist on NPR’s Wait Wait Don't Tell Me and has given 2 TED Talks. His LA Times Best Selling Book, "I'm Not A Terrorist But I've Played One On TV," was published by Simon & Schuster and he executive produced Everything Must Change, a documentary about his sister’s battle with breast cancer which is currently available on iTunes.
The Roatary Club of Patchogue's Annual Steak & Cigar Dinner will precede this performance at PeraBell Restaurant, next door to the Patchogue Theatre. Since 1996, the Steak & Cigar Dinner has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for numerous local charities. Proceeds from this year's event will benefit Long Island Community Hospital, the Patchogue Family YMCA, the Children's Hospital at Stony Brook, and more.
