Grammy® nominated jazz pianist and NPR host Judy Carmichael, considered one of the world’s leading interpreters of stride, swing and boogie, has brought her experience and knowledge to students of all ages throughout the world. In the Master Class with Judy Carmichael, Judy will perform a variety of pieces juxtaposed with classic film clips of jazz giants Fats Waller, Count Basie, Benny Goodman and others. Judy will share illustrative anecdotes simultaneously introducing live jazz piano and the rich historic context from which it has evolved. This allows a greater understanding of this unique art form and how it inspired the popular music we listen to today.

Limited Availability: $40 per student. This is a 90 minute informational and fun session with jazz pianist Judy Carmichael. For more information or to reserve a spot in Judy Carmichael's master class, call our Box Office at 631-207-1313.
